Ellron Sir Cool Perfexion (Boo Boo) is already 15.2hh at two years old, with a heap more maturing to do. We could not believe our luck when we were given the opportunity to purchase this colt. He has style, height, bloodlines and an impressive show record to boot - but the bonus for me was when we discovered that he is a one in a million homozygous black, true blue roan. To sum it all up, we will never get another chestnut foal, no matter what colour mare we breed to him. Yee Haa ... I love those dark colours.
Boo was colour tested in the USA to be EEaaRr, which means he carries only one colour gene - BLACK. He has the roan modifier. EE = homo black, no red gene. aa = no bay gene, Rr means 1 copy of roan gene.
He still is the ONLY homozygous black roan halter bred horse in Austalia, perhaps the world, we can't find another on the USA stud book.
